What used to take this contractor two to three days now only takes 20 – 30 minutes using STACK

OCT - Tech - STACK - What used to take this contractor two to three days now only takes 20 – 30 minutes using STACK
October 20, 2018 at 4:08 p.m.

“It has revolutionized my company and put us in the fast pace of commercial bidding because we are meeting our deadlines way before we used to.”

Read the transcript below or watch the video to hear from Wine Country Roofing how this technology has changed their business.

Hello, my name is Angel Vera and I am the CEO of Wine Country Roofing.

My name is Max Vera I am the COO and also the lead estimator for wine country roofing.

It used to take me anywhere from two days to three days to go ahead and get all the details that I needed to pull from every blueprint to understand all my linear and aerial footage. When I got introduced to this it was actually on a free trial from one of my general contractors who gave me a super huge project to bid which was about maybe six to eight city blocks worth of buildings and I only had a short amount of time to bid. So, when I opened it up I tried the free trial with STACK and what used to take me two to three days I was doing about 20-30 minutes.

Shoot! It’s done in one day. A big project, we can have it done in no time.

It’s giving me a lot of free time to go ahead and double check and recheck and like I said take on more than what I used to before used to be able to do one or two blueprints a week now I’m doing up to five or six to seven a week and get everything pretty much spot-on.

Also, not having the blueprints printed. In my hands, this is the “before STACK.” I’m holding a thousand dollars’ worth of blueprints here, so this is the savings. In two or three projects, STACK paid for itself for the year, so this is something I don’t have to do anymore, and besides we’re saving the trees!

Not having to do the calculations of my area pitch and square footage. So since I am a roofing company I don’t have to actually figure out how much more say if I’m going to do with a roof that’s a four on 12 versus a 12 on 12. I just plug it in and at the same time I don’t have to do any of the complicated math anymore such as the trapezoids or the square of an area of a triangle and different things like that. It already does it all automatically for me, and once I’ve done all my presets as well then I already figure out all my materials. It’s a really good system. [laugh]

We’re actually able to become more efficient, be able to take on more leads, be able to finish things ahead of time to where we can actually talk with our general contractors to see where we’re at with the bidding competition.

We have landed contracts that we were losing before. It has revolutionized my company and put us in the fast pace of commercial bidding because we are meeting our deadlines way before we used to, we used to go down to the last day the wire of meeting our deadlines for estimations where now with STACK we’re ahead of the we’re ahead of the game versus other companies that are not using this.
