Roofing Day Unites the Industry with One Voice

Trent Cotney Roofing Day
February 27, 2020 at 2:00 a.m.

RCS Influencer Trent Cotney says that Roofing Day is a unique opportunity to have your roofing voice heard by lawmakers.

Each year the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) hosts the largest advocacy event of its kind, Roofing Day in Washington, D.C., where roofers from across the nation come together for an opportunity to meet with members of Congress and their staff. This event is dedicated solely to the roofing industry and allows roofers to share directly with Congress how federal policies can affect their businesses.

We make sure to attend Roofing Day every year because it is a unique opportunity to ensure the voices of roofing professionals are being heard by lawmakers. This year, I plan on attending with three other CCL attorneys who are well-versed in government advocacy for the industry. We will come prepared to discuss with Congress the key legislative issues impacting the entire roofing industry: immigration reform, funding for career and technical education programs, advancing the use of energy-efficient technologies, and legislation to prohibit reverse auctions in federal construction procurement.

This event unites the roofing industry as one voice and sends a message to lawmakers at Capitol Hill that we are a force to be reckoned with. Help push for political reform that will benefit the industry as a whole by attending Roofing Day 2020 on April 22 in Washington, D.C. We hope to see you there!

Trent Cotney is the founder of Cotney Construction Law, a law firm that specializes in roofing and construction law. See his full bio here.
