How to Put Your Roofing Company on the Map — Literally

Raise the Rank Google my Business 1

By Chuck Magee, Raise the Rank.

How to use Google My Business to market your roofing company and drive more leads.

Nowadays, the name of the marketing game is all about the online presence of your company. Google My Business (GMB) is a massively helpful tool for helping customers find you, and you want to come up first in those searches to start generating leads. So how do you build a strong GMB? Read on to learn more about using GMB to build your online presence and why it is so important.

So, what is the snack pack or local pack and how do you get there?

When only three companies show up in a Google search and it is three stacked one on top of the other, this is called the Google local pack. This is where you should be trying to get your roofing company.

If you have a strong Google My Business, your GMB listing may even show up as a knowledge panel for searches like “roofers near me” or “roof repair near me.” This will never happen without working your Google My Business every week.

Making sure you tell Google all about yourself is critical. Make sure your categories are listed correctly and are relevant. You do not want to just cram a bunch of non-relevant listing here; you will confuse Google.

Weekly posts are a great way to get more visibility.

Posts can get you extra views and opportunities for a click or call. If you are not doing relevant weekly posts, you will never have these extra potential clicks to your website.

Photos are another great way to get extra visibility to your Google My Business profile. Image search is now over 20% of all Google searches. Again, this is all extra views you can be getting over everyone in your market.

I have seen as much as 7,000% more views than other roofers in a market when a roofing company adds images each week. Google is high on image search right now; you need to be taking advantage of this by loading good pictures and videos every week.

What is the #1 thing you can be doing for your GMB and local search? Getting more reviews that’s what. So many roofing companies I see either have no Google reviews, or not many, and most are bad. This is a sure-fire way to kill your roofing company fast.

Having a well thought out and workable Google-review-acquisition plan along with an automated review platform are just two ways to start getting more Google reviews.

According to Google the most important local ranking factor in Google search are Google reviews. Having more Google reviews will help you rank in the organic search results. Anyone who is actively trying to get more Google reviews knows they aren’t that easy to get.

You can beg, plead, and try anything and everything and then some, no matter how great of a job you did, some people will not leave a Google review.

So, how do you get more Google reviews?

First just ask. Google says the #1 reason people do not leave a review is nobody asked them to. Then partly just by having a plan and working it month after month. You need to start with a monthly goal. How many opportunities a month do you have to get reviews? Start off by going after 30% of this number but stay diligent. Having an automated platform that makes follow-ups with your roofing clients is another great way to collect more Google reviews.

Conclusion
