Junior Estimator
Job Description
1. Compile measurements and prepare quantity tables from digital construction drawings using BlueBeam Revu software and MS Excel;
2. Attend pre-bid site meetings and compile field measurements;
3. Prepare cost estimates with Sage (Timberline) Estimating software;
4. Communicate with suppliers to obtain and evaluate project-specific material pricing;
5. Prepare and submit complete tender packages;
6. Prepare and follow-up on quotations;
7. Prepare construction documents and contracts;
8. Analyze and identify risk factors present in contract documents and specifications (ie. ?hooks?, bonding, insurance, etc.);
9. Prepare construction schedules with MS Project Professional;
10. Prepare material order sheets and schedule material deliveries;
11. Prepare work orders;
12. Prepare and submit warranty applications and related warranty documents.
Job Qualification
1. Must be currently enrolled or recently graduated in a University, Post-Graduate Certificate, or Diploma program in either: Building Science; Engineering; Architecture.
2. Must be able to read and understand construction drawings and specifications;
3. Excellent written and oral communication skills;
4. Strong time management skills and strong attention to detail;
5. Ability to work both independently and in a team atmosphere in a fast-paced environment;
6. Ability to work at heights and climb ladders;
7. Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook;
8. Valid driver's license is not required, but considered an asset;
9. Proficiency in AutoCAD is not required, but considered an asset;
10. Proficiency in the following is not required, but considered an asset:
*Sage (Timberline);
* Bluebeam Revu;
*MS Project Professional
