30 years. Where were you? I had an infant at home, turned on the TV and heard the song Imagine playing. Then they proceeded to say he was killed. I cried. PC

Twill, you really got me thinking about your comment. They all were speaking a truth & insight that was totally ignored. I realize now that I was more into the music sound than the lyrics. Shame on me. I was not ignorant about things, so much was going on back then. We were kids. Come on, civil right movements, desegration, assasinations, endless. Many of our musicians are very insightful. PC

I was sorry to hear of his death but really had not cared for him after Yoko broke up the band. The Beatles were one of the best bands of our era, bar none. By themselves they wrote "good" songs but nothing like the ones they wrote together.

Also they railed against pollution and wasting resources. Well, here we are........

I just watched a show on PBS EdSullivans '60 Shows. They usually play these shows several times hopefully those of us from that ERA Have a chance to watch it. I heard songs that I have not heard in ages and forgotten about. BUT I knew all the words and sang along, I was even laughing at myself. I was a teenager again. :woohoo: :woohoo:
