Q & A Session with TUBOS on why it just makes more sense than other solutions

Q & A Session with TUBOS on why it just makes more sense than other solutions
January 11, 2019 at 6:42 p.m.

The patented plumbing vent pipe extension system increases the height of existing vent pipes to meet local building codes quick and easy.

TUBOS haven been helping roofing contractors extend pipes on the roof for 10 years! They are manufactured for use with 2”, 3” and 4” standard diameter vent pipes and are prefabricated with integral six-inch long pipe joint splice sleeve inserts at each end of every unit. See the Q & A below to learn why TUBOS really are the best solution on the market.

Q: Why can’t I just use no-hub couplings and PVC pipe?

A: When using those you have to use a bigger lead boot to fit it, which would then cost more than using a TUBOS and you would have to squeeze all the extra lead into the smaller existing pipe. Plus send a worker to pick up the couplings and pipe at a hardware store, TUBOS can be picked up at your local roofing distributor.

Q: Won't the TUBOS reduce the internal diameter of the vent pipe?

A: Slightly but not as much as the lead boot that gets stuffed down into it. The methane gas will be released.

Q: Can’t I just get two different size PVC pipes and glue them together like what appears to be with TUBOS?

A: The inside and outside diameter of TUBOS is one of a kind. This size PVC cannot be found anywhere else. The purpose for our measurements is so the insert can fit into a cast iron pipe and PVC while the outer part of the TUBOS is wide enough to sit on top of a PVC pipe without falling down into it.
