Powerblanket Developed a Hot Box in 10 Days for the Zip Cart

Powerblanket Zip Cart
February 4, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.

By Colin Sheehan, RCS Reporter.

Contractors can continue to get the most out of their zip cart sprayer this winter with a new Hot Box.

The Zip Cart is a popular machine among contractors for many reasons. Notably, the spraying cart is five times faster than hand spraying and covers 20% more ground than a hand application. It also has a windscreen that allows contractors to continue applying adhesive even in winds up to 30mph. The Zip Cart works with all spray adhesives.

The Zip Cart is a powerful tool but, like many machines, struggles to perform at its peak functionality during the winter. Cold temperatures cause joint stiffness as the machine’s metal makeup turns from ductile to brittle. In other words, instead of bending it breaks.

Powerblanket realized the need in the roofing industry to protect roofing equipment from damage due to cold weather and developed their Powerblanket® Hot Box to accommodate job-site heating for temperature-sensitive materials. Recently, Powerblanket designed and developed a Hot Box in just ten days to fit the dimensions of the Zip Cart specifically.

The Hot Box’s revolutionary design is maintenance free and does not require its temperature to be maintained throughout the day. The versatile heated pallet cover provides heat uniformly across the entire Zip Cart, eliminating any overly hot or cold spots. By using the Hot Box, contractors can extend their work year and continue using the Zip Cart throughout the winter months.

The Hot Box heater:

  • Maintains an internal temperature as high as of 120°F / 49°C (± 5°F / 3°C).

  • Has an insulated full-wrap design.

  • Provides uniform heat throughout the Hot Box.

  • Is quick and easy to assemble.

  • Is portable and can be stored easily during the summer.

  • Provides localized heat to save money by not heating an entire warehouse or building.

  • Protects expensive materials from the cold.

  • Prevents waste by maintaining consistent temperatures.

  • Features top and side access doors.

  • Comes with a 6-foot power cord.

  • Is customizable upon request.

  • Certified by ETL to UL & CSA safety standards.
