A standing-room-only crowd gathered to watch the participants compete.

Chicago, Illinois - MCA announces the winners of its 4th annual Metal Roofing Championship Games held October 18-20 at METALCON in Las Vegas.

"The 2017 MCA Metal Roofing Championship Games was a huge success. This event has only gotten better and better since its debut at METALCON 2014 in Tampa. This year, we made a lot of noise, created much excitement, and received a standing-room-only crowd of people to watch some very talented and skilled contestants compete for big bucks. In fact, they were so exciting, we actually recruited three more teams to compete next year in Charlotte, hopefully with an even larger purse," said Mark James, MCA Metal Roofing Games Coordinator.

The 2017 competition winners were as follows:

Day 1 winners were Joe Allen and Paul Kulb of Thomas Phoenix International of Easthampton, New Jersey. They won challenge 1, 3, 4 and 5, plus the daily point award. The other teams that competed were Marc Vlietstra and Seth Vlietstra of Roy's Sheds in Perth, Australia and Robert Faint and David Austin of Wm. Molnar Roofing in Riverview, Michigan. Total day 1 cash awards were $3,250.

Day 2 winners were Matt Cox and Justin Hopta of Thomas Phoenix International of East Hampton, New Jersey. They tied for Challenge 1, and won challenges 2 and 3, plus the daily points award. The other teams that competed were Chris Renninger and Jose Peralta of S&S Structures, Inc. of Blandon, Pennsylvania and Nick Hidalgo and Steven Dempsey of Wm. Molnar Roofing in Riverview, Michigan. Total day 2 cash awards were $3,250.

On Day 3, Matt Cox and Justin Hopta of Thomas Phoenix International competed against Joe Allen and Paul Kulb also of Thomas Phoenix and were named the MCA METALCON 2017 National Metal Roofing Champions.
