GAF’s Flexible TPO is Here for You

GAF Flexible TPO

By Lauren White, RCS Reporter.

This new line of accessories is easier to use and apply, saving you time and money.

TPO is one of the more common systems used for commercial roofing.  With that being said, GAF has developed a new line of products that are hassle-free and easy to apply.  The GAF Flexible TPO Accessories simply require users to place and weld.

Difficult roof penetrations and corner details just got easier to complete.  There’s no more need to pre-heat and there’s no pushback, all you have to do is flex them into place.  GAF has developed seven different Flexible TPO options: fluted corners, inside corners, split pipe boots, curb wraps, T-joint cover patches, detailing membrane, and square tube wraps.

“...GAF Flexible TPO Accessories don’t sacrifice any of the TPO toughness you count on.  These accessories are just as thick as always— just more pliable and easier to use,” as mentioned on their site.

Three different installers tested out these products and were thoroughly impressed with the flexibility of the TPO and the results they saw.  Their initial reactions to the product, even before applying them or heating them were all positive.  Upon holding a sample of the fluted corners TPO, David Sabillon, from Coastalina Exteriors LLC, out of North Carolina, commented, “I could work with these all day.”

Once they began heat welding, they were even more pleased.  Eric Foster, from Kingdom Construction in Indianapolis, Indiana shared, “The new product gets in there a lot tighter, [it’s] a lot easier to weld.  I’ve got a lot more confidence in this.”  Shane Stephenson, also from Kingdom Construction revealed, “It’s a whole lot easier to work with.  It just goes around the corners a whole lot easier…”

There are multiple benefits to using these accessories besides the easy application.  They are cost-effective since they reduce the amount of time needed to install, they provide a uniform look, and they are a more reliable product.  “A more flexible accessory helps me do a better job and a faster job and I believe it would be a game-changer,” David explained.

There’s no need to continue welding with conventional TPO accessories with GAF’s new line of Flexible TPO Accessories.  Shane urges others to try out these products, stating, “You would be a fool not to go to these new products.”
