Duro-Last® Helps Buildings Qualify for Toronto Grants

Duro-Last Helps Building Qualify for Toronto Grants
October 18, 2019 at 6:00 a.m.

Contractors can help their customers earn money toward installing an eco-friendly Duro-Last cool roof.

The city of Toronto now offers grant incentives for eco-friendly roofing systems, including cool roofs, on commercial buildings. Cool roofs are designed to reflect the sun’s rays and reduce heat build-up, mitigating dangerous urban heat islands that commonly develop in highly populated regions. Additionally, cool roofs have been proven to reduce energy demand for building owners, lowering long-term utility costs.

Toronto wants owners to install eco-friendly roofs to improve the overall quality of living in the city and deliver the following benefits:

  • Save energy
  • Reduce greenhouse gas emissions
  • Reduce urban heat
  • Capture stormwater
  • Improve air quality

Incentive details:

  • Available for industrial, commercial and institutional buildings in the city of Toronto
  • Grant applications must be approved prior to commencing any work on the roof
  • $2 – $5 per square-meter when installing a new cool roof membrane

Duro-Last cool roof solutions meet Toronto’s requirements.

White Duro-Last membranes are the ideal solution when looking for a cool roofing solution. By reflecting up to 88% of the sun’s energy, they can greatly reduce energy costs and improve a building’s efficiency.

Additionally, the Duro-Last Roofing System offers:

  • Custom-fabrication of the roofing system, reducing labor and eliminating rooftop seaming at critical transitions.
  • Recyclability at the end of the membrane’s useful life through the Duro-Last Take Back Program.
  • Comprehensive warranty coverage for your building’s specific needs.
