Dan Tinker - Big News! SRS Announces HUGE 2022 IRE Concert

SRS Podcast with Dan Tinker
December 13, 2021 at 9:00 a.m.

By Colin Sheehan, RCS Reporter.

Headlined by Willie Nelson and with exciting special guests, you won’t want to miss this year’s SRS concert!

In Season 3, Episode 65 of Roofing Road Trips, Heidi visits with Dan Tinker, the CEO of SRS Distribution, about their annual #1 Concert Event. This year the iconic artist, Willie Nelson, will be headlining the show that will raise funds for several charities and organizations including the One Tribe Foundation, National Women in Roofing (NWiR) and the Roofing Alliance. The two also discuss SRS’s ambitious initiatives aimed at supporting their employees' experiencing mental health issues.

SRS is known for throwing the biggest bashes at IRE and in 2022, in New Orleans, they will out-do themselves with three amazing shows on the largest venue SRS has ever had. Attendees will enjoy performances by Parker McCollum, The Randy Rogers Band and Willie Nelson.

“[During] the concert, we will raise money for our foundation and we’ll have a special guest, the CEO of One Tribe Foundation, Jake Schick who will be coming with his good friend, Bradley Cooper,” said Dan. “Bradley and Jake are very passionate about not only veterans, but mental wellness in our country. So mental wellness is what we're raising money for.”

Dan continued by detailing SRS’s pioneering initiative to fund and create resources for employees and their families to help cope with mental distress. Since the beginnings of COVID-19, SRS has seen the stress level of their employees rise and wants to encourage everyone to seek help when they need it.

“It's okay to not be okay. It's okay to admit you need help and seek help and get help,” said Dan. “[Mental health] is a big thing and it's out there and it's real. And we need to do everything we can for our employees."

This is the message SRS wants to spread to the industry in 2022. Now that several years have passed since the onset of COVID-19, more people are beginning to realize how significant of a toll this global event has had on their mental health. Dan and everyone at SRS see reducing stress as not only beneficial for the individual employee, but a necessary action for the functionality of the entire industry.

"Our big focus for our frontline employees is helping them with reduced stress, and we just felt it tied perfectly to make that a focal point for the industry,” said Dan. “And it's amazing when you start being honest about [how you’re feeling], everyone else starts telling you about all their issues and you feel very normal about it and you feel good to talk about it as opposed to pretending everything's fine when it isn't. And there's a lot of things we can do to recharge our batteries, de-stress and invest in people to make sure they know how much you appreciate them and care about them. And that goes a long way for everybody.”

Listen to the entire podcast to hear more about SRS’s mental health initiative, the One Tribe Foundation and the upcoming concert at IRE.
