Applications for the $5,000 scholarship are due by April 22, 2022. 

The Davis Memorial Foundation was founded in memory of Larry and Mary Davis to honor their support for roofing industry education. Every year the foundation offers scholarships to students who want to further their education in the construction industry. Since 1997, the foundation has awarded over 150 scholarships to students attending vocational schools, colleges or universities. 

Academic scholarships

This year, based on the generous support of members like you, we're now offering scholarships at $5,000 EACH for 2022. All students are encouraged to apply! 

Awards are based on academic/personal achievement, financial need and other factors, as deemed appropriate by the Trustees. Don’t delay – completed applications are due to the WSRCA office postmarked or electronically submitted no later than April 22, 2022. 

All candidates must be one of the following: 

• High school students, undergraduate or graduate students. 

• Technical or vocational trade school students. 

• Provisionally accepted as students into undergraduate or graduate degree programs for the coming academic year by accredited colleges, universities or vocational educational programs.

About the Davis Memorial Foundation 

The Davis Memorial Foundation is operated under the auspices of the Western States Roofing Contractors Association. 

Larry and Mary Davis personified the heart and spirit of the roofing industry community. Committed to supporting the professional standing of roofing contractors, Larry promoted high standards and believed that a well-educated membership was key to the industry's future success. Founder of State Roofing Company in Modesto, California, Larry served as a director on the Western States RCA Board of Directors and was active on several committees, often flying to meetings with his wife Mary in their private airplane. They perished in a plane crash in 1995 when they were returning from a committee meeting. The Foundation was created in their honor. 

About the WSRCA 

Western States Roofing Contractors Association is a non-profit regional association of roofing, roof deck and waterproofing contractors and industry related associate members. The association’s close and frequent contact with members and its programs and services are vital to the successful operation of member companies.
