Experts Predict Active Hurricane Season; Stormseal® Ready to Meet Increased Demand

Stormseal Hurricane Season
June 6, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.

Stormseal® technology offers better temporary protection for homes than traditional blue tarps.

Stormseal, the game-changing storm response solution that provides powerful protection to homes and buildings until permanent repairs can be made, announced that U.S.-manufacturing facilities are prepared to meet the demand as experts predict a more active hurricane season in 2020.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is predicting with a 70-percent confidence level that the U.S. will see an above normal 2020 hurricane season. They expect there to be 13-19 named storms, six to 10 of which could grow into hurricanes.

“Contractors and homeowners have seen how well Stormseal protected homes following Hurricanes Irma, Michael and Dorian,” said Matthew Lennox, CEO and founder of Stormseal. “In fact, nearly a year after Dorian brought such devastation to the Bahamas, there are still homes awaiting permanent repairs that are being protected by Stormseal.”

Stormseal is a strong polyethylene film that heat-shrinks to cover a damaged structure and stays put until permanent repairs are made. When Stormseal is installed on a damaged roof or wall, the application of heat shrinks the film, enhancing its strength and ensuring a perfect fit to the structure, without damaging any underlying materials.

The Stormseal protection has been tested to withstand 150 mile-per-hour winds, is UV and fire resistant and provides superior, long-lasting protection that far surpasses the performance of traditional blue tarps, which flap, blow off and fail frequently, resulting in additional property damage.

Homeowners are encouraged to ask their insurance companies about Stormseal protection for their homes following hurricane damage and to locate a Stormseal certified contractor at www.stormseal.com. Contractors interested in becoming certified as an installer can do so at an upcoming training in Mulberry, Florida. Training dates can be found at www.stormseal.com
