---I do not know. I do know that all the roofers I know are doing about 25% of the work today as they did 1 year ago. Work is very scarce. I can call my supplier and get a delivery in about 2 hours so there cannot be many deliveries scheduled by other roofers. I have bought out 2 small roofing companies that are going out of business. I expect others to drop out as well unless things turn around quickly. One of the larger companies in our area is selling trucks and equipment on Craigslist. Obviously they are way down in sales as well. ---If the stimulus does anything it will translate into work for roofers as people who cannot make their mortgage payment certainly are not putting on a roof. If those same people get back on their feet they may hire a roofer someday. Lanny>>>

It will depend on how easy or difficult it becomes in the Near Future, for private citizens to start moving forward with home equity lines of credit once again, considering how devalued most properties have become from several years high appraisals.

As long as the doom and gloom remains in the news media, plus the steady monthly additions to the corps of newly unemployed, this may be much longer than the one year anticipated and hopeful recovery ascent.

In my own area, I know of 6 local long time contractors who have folded, so it is not as much how it will affect my business, but more so, how will my company adjust to the newer economic climate.
