COURSE OVERVIEW Stormseal is an innovative, patented, Australian product now being manufactured in the United States. Stormseal is designed to provide emergency storm damage protection for homes and businesses. This nationally recognized course covers theoretical and practical aspects of installing Stormseal together with a refreshment of the Work Safely at Heights FP1001 course.

During the course, we will assist you in developing safe work method statements and risk assessments for installing Stormseal film while working at height. This course will enable you to comply with current WHS legislation, with successful trainees receiving a nationally recognized Statement of Attainment.

Stormseal installation at heights training is focused on Stormseal film installation together with fall prevention rather than fall arrest. It is designed to equip workers with the knowledge and skills to safely install Stormseal in any height situation, primarily being aimed at insurance works and mainstream construction, including residential & commercial as well as strata & maintenance.

Optimum Academy recognizes that while there is a standard set of learning outcomes for this course, the context, and environment in which the learning is applied is varied. FP1001-Residential Rooftop Safety

Course Overview

FP1001-RR is a prerequisite requirement to take FP2001-Stormseal.

FP1001-RR is specific to residential roofers operating on both low and steep-slope residential rooftops and addresses the work at height training and educational needs of the employer and employee whose livelihood depends on being safe. This one-day training focuses on the underpinning knowledge of work at height fall protection and risk mitigation focusing on the need to fully understand, identify, and address the potential hazards associated with the task. Delegates will be instructed upon personal fall protection equipment, fall arrest systems, and the importance of fall protection and rescue planning for residential rooftop environments.

All ENSA North America practical training exercises are implemented under a “Skills Based Evolution Process” which the student experiences as a layering approach, whereby a basic foundation is established, and through reaffirmation and confirmation, additional practical skills are applied to effectively demonstrate and apply through hands-on experiences the complexities of work and rescue at height, achieving success through confidence by all who participate.

Reaffirmation through testing is applied with the addition of correction to 100%. This unique philosophy in learning ensures all incorrectly answered test questions are tabled under a whole group discussion to ensure maximum retention and understanding by all students. All training programs are structured upon a pass or fail determination criteria and are in accordance with ANSI Z490.1 – 2016 Criteria for accepted practices in safety, health, and environmental training and under ENSA’s ISO 9001-certified quality management system.

Note: Students must be medically and physically fit with a desire to work at heights. The training environment may require the use of specialized access methods such as those employed within suspension and rope access practices. These practices may be utilized as effective safety tools within the delivery of this program. They are not to be considered trained within this program.
